Coraline (2002) is a novella for children and adults by the British author Neil Gaiman. This story has been compared to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland books because of its surreality and its alternate-reality based plot.
Following the success of the book the adaptation of the plot to the cinema has been decided. As a result an animated movie based on Neil Gaiman's novel should be released in January 2009 February 2009.
The movie, also entitled Coraline, will use both stop-motion technics and CGI in order to produce a brand new experience for the spectators.
The Plot:
"This is the story of a young, bored girl named Coraline Jones who discovers that a bricked-up wall behind a door in her flat leads to another world, with another mother, and another father. When she tries to go back, she realizes that her other mother has kidnapped her real parents and she must fight to get them back."
I'll be happy to bring my children to watch this movie. Actually, even if they don't want to go I'll go alone: Coraline is based on a really interesting plotwith deep meanings. One should not miss it!
