Returning from the first "Boondock Saints" is writer/director Troy Duffy, and actors Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, Billy Connolly, and some new faces like Julie Benz (she's in my favorite show "Dexter") and Peter Fonda. In this one the Saints have to return to Boston to track down a killer who murdered their Priest friend.
If you are at all a fan of the first "Boondock Saints" this is an absolute must see. It's a giant jumbled mess of violence and comedy, but it work so well. It was so great to see the brothers back, and even Willem Dafoe's replacement does a great job. She's played by Julie Benz, who's in one of my favorite TV shows "Dexter."
One addition I really enjoyed was this Mexican sidekick they get, Romeo, he was absolutely hilarious. There's a scene where he tries to come up with a memorable line, like "we need a bigger boat" or "hasta la vista baby," but he ends up coming up with one of the most hilarious lines in film history. So definitely check this out even if you may not have seen the first one, because my review for the first "Boondock Saints" was written on June 21, 2006, and I barely remember the first one. What's funny is I say I wish they would have come out with a sequel, and here it is.
