JACK RYAN GOES ORIGINAL

Few months ago, GreenTeaMovie reported that Jack Ryan latest installment will have Chris Pine on it and apparently many debates on which direction the fifth movie will be heading for. There are several original books that are yet to be adapted (eight to be exact) and to many surprise, Collider and EO reported that the new screenplay of Jack Ryan will go the opposite way - no books.

The
Tom Clancy's CIA superspook was first portrayed by Alec Badwin in 1990's The Hunt For Red October, then two outing by Harrison Ford in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger before turning into this dedase with Ben Affleck's rebooted The Sum of All Fears.

Producer
Mace Neufield in a recent press conference for Clint Eastwood's Invictus said "We ran out of books. Red Rabbit was the last one, and we just couldn't seem to get a script out of it." Red Rabbit is one of the two only novels alongside The Cardinal of the Kremlin in wich Ryan is young enough to be portrayed by Chris Pine.

Hasan Amini and Adam Koxac are working on the screenplay, which has been described as "Ryan picking up his day on Wall Street". In the novels by Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan works with a Wall Street firm called Merrill Lynch after serving as Marine Corps but before been recruited to CIA. Since it's Ryan was as a CIA-analyst in The Sum of All Fears and it was a prequel to the previous three films, it will be easy to say that this is another reboot or prequel to a prequel?
